About Us

St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church’s athletics ministry  is focused on teamwork and self-discipline centered around our Catholic faith. The program is dedicated to excellence in athletics and is committed to supporting spiritual, physical, mental and emotional growth through our team sports. The ministry encourages the growth of team and parish spirit, and the improvement of physical coordination and fitness of our parishioners.

Sports

Basketball

Since 2003, St. Mary Magdalene has supported one of the largest Catholic basketball programs in the Upstate of South Carolina – even before our church had a gym of its own. Representing more than 300 players, St. Mary Magdalene has supported more than 30 youth and mens basketball teams. For the 2022-23 basketball season, our church plans to have its first women's team as a new member of the Greer CBA.

Volleyball
St. Mary Magdalene plans to add volleyball in the spring of 2023 as part of the Greer CBA. More information and registration will be posted as the season approaches. Interested participants can get on a mailing list by visiting our Volleyball landing page.

Tennis

With divisions for beginners, intermediate and advanced players, the league offers categories for ladies, men, doubles and mixed doubles. Freedom Tennis is offered in the spring, summer, fall and winter for players 19 and up. All matches are played in Greenville County.
