2017 Diocese of Charleston Youth Basketball Tournament
Hundreds of Catholic young people will gather in Greenville on February 24-27, 2016 for the annual Diocese of Charleston Youth Basketball Tournament. The host church is St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville.
This middle school tournament for boys and girls rotates between Greenville, Myrtle Beach, Charleston and Aiken. The tournament is broken into two age groups:
All participating teams will be guaranteed 3 games in this tournament, and each team should plan on playing a game on Friday night, February 24.
Unlike the rules in the GDUMRA, boys and girls who play school basketball can play in this tournament. In fact, many of the teams are Catholic schools – complete with cheerleaders and cheering sections. Win or lose, our kids have a ton of fun and there are many things to do in the host city.
Fees & Logistics
There is an additional cost to play in this tournament. Since there are no travel costs associated with this year's tournament, the cost per player is only $40. This includes all registration costs and accidential insurance.
All St. Mary Magdalene teams will attend mass on Saturday night (traditionally performed by Bishop Robert E. Guglielmone). Games continue on Sunday for teams that advance.
